Friend Luke I received your letter to night and will drop a very few lines, in return We are now at Warrenton after taking a circuit of about 60 miles -the Rebs first drove us then we drove them - You must not expect a very lengthy letter to night as we are expecting to move in the morning - We have been traveling night and day for about 3 weeks without hardly anything to eat - (in the Rgts) I manage to get along very well I have broken off Chewing Smoking Drinking and Swearing I will turn in a Methodist Preacher soon Hammond is well give my love to all and write soon (I am all right on the [Question?]) Good Bye Excuse this Pe[—–]ly Friend Billy
